Indoor Environmental Solutions
The Titernal product is a type of photocatalyst which in the presence of ultraviolet light eliminates odors in the air, kills bacteria and decomposes organic matter. This substance was developed in Japan to improve the hygiene of the home and office environment and is now gaining attention around the world as an effective anti-bacteria agent and deodorant.
|
The active ingredient in Titernal is Titanium Oxide (TiO²) . When exposed to light, TiO² converts toxic substances in the air into water and carbon dioxide much like a leaf in the process of photosynthesis, with its oxidative decomposition power. When it comes into contact with germs, it decomposes their cell membrane and kills them.
The oxidation process is totally harmless to the human body.

Titernal W (Water Based Solvent) |
| • |
Employs soft binders and transparent titanium oxide nano-particles. As a result, the base-material textile will not lose its beauty or color |
| • |
Powerful antibacterial effect |
| • |
Even after washing, retains anti-bacterial and deodorant properties. |

For Textile Products: |
| |
|
| 1. |
Application by Soaking:
Simply dip the material in Titernal, squeeze off the excess, and dry. Materials can be dried both naturally or with heat, as long as the heat source is not hotter than 200°c. There are no other specific methods of application or treatment.
Please note that by squeezing out the excess solution, 60% or more of the Titernal is removed. This will not diminish the effect of Titernal on the material being treated. The remaining Titernal W Solution can be used for another treatment. |
| |
|
| 2. |
Application by Spraying:
| a) |
On curtains: Lightly spray Titernal W directly on surface, including back of curtain. |
| b) |
On carpets and other thick material: Spray directly on surface and immediately spread with brush in order to avoid beading. |
| c) |
On calcium silicate boards: Coat the surface directly. |
|

|
| B. |
Other Applications:
Titernal W can be used for variety of other materials and surfaces, such as vinyl type paper and plastic surfaces. After adhesion, it will form a solid but flexible film. |

Titernal E (Water Based Solvent) |
| • |
One coat application provides complete treatment |
| • |
May be applied to a wide range of materials, including plastics |
| • |
Neither priming nor undercoating is required |
| • |
Ethanol based solvent dries quickly, ideal for indoor use |
| • |
Film coating is colorless and completely transparent; will not obscure or damage underlying design |
| • |
Decomposes VOC, a noxious gas contributing to Sick Building Syndrome |
| • |
Same antibacterial and deodorant effectiveness as Titernal W |
| For Coated Surfaces, Plastic Products, and Metal: |
| |
|
| 1. |
Dipping: Soak metal component parts and other materials (ex. doorknobs) directly in solution. |
| |
|
| 2. |
Brushing: Use a brush for coating surfaces. |
| • |
Because special organic binders are used, the photocatalyst effect is sufficient for interior materials; but it has no semi-permanent effect like that of inorganic binders. Therefore, we do not recommend this product for outdoor spraying of building walls, signboards, etc. |
| |
|

Titernal E uses ethanol as a solvent, which is a hazardous material according to the Fire Defense Law. Be careful when using the product, as ethanol is flammable and poisonous. Do not use on materials which react with ethanol. |
